A REDNAL author has published his second novel after more than ten years of research.
Terry Walsh, who writes under the pseudonym Jack Walsh, recently self-published his second fictional novel, The Will of the State, which follows the character of Vasily Nikolayevich Petrov and his epic journey across the vastness of the Soviet Empire.
Originally written as an essay for his Open University English Literature degree, Terry spent years thoroughly researching the subject matter, from the Battle of Stalingrad to Siberian prison camps.
The retired author published his first novel, Twilight’s Last Gleaming, in 2013 which is about the Vietnam War and its psychological effects.
He said: “My main objective was to complete my projects and, if my stories entertain, excite or disturb, then that part of the objective is also achieved.
“I read a prolific amount when I was younger and have always had a passion for English literature.
“I worked on Twilight’s Last Gleaming for ten years but was bringing up young children at the time. I spent a long time researching both novels as I wanted them to be as perfect and authentic as possible.”
