Free event for pet owners at Clent Hills vets in Rubery this Saturday

A FREE event for pet owners is being held at Clent Hills Vets’ Rubery branch next Saturday (April 22).

Those who go along to the day between 10am and 2pm will be able to meet the team, look behind the scenes and check out the brand new clinic – introductory tours are at 10am.

There will then be a programme of activities and live demonstrations, including cleaning pets’ teeth, checking for fleas and ticks and helpful advice on tell-tale signs relating to when animals are feeling unwell.

An ultrasound scan demonstration will show how vets check out pets’ vital organs and there will be a visit from Merryn, a therapy dog and her owner Jackie Medler. Therapy dogs are temperament tested and specially trained to fulfill important roles in local communities, offering comfort, affection and happiness to people at schools, hospitals, hospices, nursing homes and prisons.

Clent Hills Vets director Rebekka Fiorani said: “Our open day events in Bromsgrove and Hagley have always proved to be extremely popular with the local pet owning community and we are delighted to be able to now extend this offering to people in Rubery,”

The vets will also be running a special ‘Chip and Check’ week across its three branches from April 18 to 25. Pet owners can book an appointment to have their pet microchipped or have a free microchip check, to make sure it is still working properly.

The ‘Chip and Check’ service will be available without the need to pre-book at the Rubery Open Day on April 22.
