Mole leads the way for BRAC at Droitwich Half Marathon

ROBERT MOLE claimed a top six finish as he led the Bromsgrove & Redditch Athletic Club charge at the Droitwich Half Marathon.

Race winner Stuart Hawking was never in trouble on the one-lap course as he won in a time of 1.13.17, whilst several B&R runners clocked personal bests.

Mole finished sixth in 1.22.23, Malcolm Duff was seventh and second over 35 in 1.22.56, Darryll Thomas 12th in 1.26.33, Mark Tanner 14th in 1.27.52, Kevin Lanckham 15th and first over 50 in 1.28.48, Debbie Fowler 76th, sixth lady and first over 45 in 1.45.41 and Ann Stuart 123rd, 20th lady and second over 55 in 1.53.47.

Redditch runner Joe Smith ran for the Midlands in the Trafford 10k in Manchester.




In pouring rain, a top class event was won by Chris Thompson of Aldershot & Farnham.

Thirty-nine runners broke the 31-minute barrier and Smith, of Tipton Harriers, clocked 31.36.
