KIND-HEARTED customers at a Rubery shop raised more than £170 for the Air Ambulance by holding a Christmas raffle.

Kennedys Mica Hardware shop raffled off a hamper during the festive season, the funds are now in and the winning ticket has been drawn by Lucie Stephenson who starred as the Angel Gabriel in the nativity at St Chad’s Church.

Lucie’s daughter won the hamper.

The total donation was £178.52 including £136.00 that was generously put in to the collection box that was on the counter of the hardware store.

A spokesperson for the store said that the funds provided was a wonderful start to 2017 – the 13th year the company had been based at the present location with the firm originally being founded in 1955.
