RESIDENTS are being reminded to go to Bromsgrove’s Princess of Wales Community Hospital rather than A&E if they have any minor injuries over Christmas and new year.
Minor Injury Units (MIUs), like the one at POWCH, are often overlooked and, rather than spending hours waiting at A&E, patients can get seen quicker at MIUs where the average waiting time is 20 minutes.
The Minor Injuries Unit is usually open from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and between midday and 8pm on Saturday and Sunday.
But there are different times over the festive season. The Princess of Wales MIU is open between midday and 8pm on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and December 27.
It is open between 8am and 8pm on December 28, 29 and 30 and from midday to 8pm on New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day and bank holiday Monday (January 2).
