MEMBERS of Bromsgrove Labour Party were out on Bromsgrove High Street last Saturday to campaign for more investment in the NHS.
They joined shoppers and visitors in the town centre and collected 500 signatures on a petition calling for more Government funding for the health service.
The petition will be sent to Bromsgrove MP Sajid Javid and the Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond.
The chairman of the local Labour Party Dr Michael Thompson said the response from the public was overwhelming.
“Some shoppers even stopped and joined us to hand out leaflets – the NHS is obviously dear to everyone.”
The campaign also raised awareness of the decision to remove health visitors from children’s centres.
