TWO FORMER LMS steam locomotives passed through the area whilst working an excursion on Sunday (November 27).
The locomotives known as Black 5’s, numbers 44871, and 45407 – named The Lancashire Fusilier, hauled the Welsh Marches Express tour through Worcestershire whilst heading to south Wales and back again.
Rachel Jackson from organisers the Railway Touring Company said: “The tour was a very enjoyable day out for all on board, the two locomotives performed very well over the entire route.
“We were really pleased to welcome the passengers that joined us at Barnt Green and Droitwich.”
Enthusiasts lined the route to see the train as it passed through on Sunday morning, and again on its return leg on Sunday night, with a crowd gathered at Bromsgrove Station to welcome the locomotives during a brief scheduled stop around 9pm.
