SEVENTIES tribute band Showaddywaddy Elite will perform a fund-raiser for the Bosom Friends cancer Support group at 7.30pm next Friday (November 11).
Bosom Friends was launched by a group of nurses from the Alexandra Hospital 20 years ago as a support group for women undergoing breast cancer treatment.
Today, it has reached out to some 120 members, providing women and their families with advice and an opportunity to socially connect at events throughout the year. Last year’s Bosom Friends event raised almost £3000.
This year’s fund-raiser at Studley Road Social Club will also feature more 1970s music from local DJ Barrie Gee, a fancy dress competition and a raffle.
Cash will also go to Haven, which provides holistic therapies and support to women and their families.
Tickets – available from [email protected] – are £10.
