THE ANNUAL show held in Bromsgrove by the Shirley Chrysanthemum Society has been hailed another great success.
Organisers say although there were fewer entries this year at Burcot Garden Centre, there were more blooms as competitors turned out to enter the bigger classes.
Roger Collier won ‘best exhibit’ and ‘best vase’ but was closely challenged by John Hadley from Worcester for those titles.
Other winners included the ever-present Chris Amphlett and Ian Thornton and there was some interest in growing Chrysanthemums from members of the public who had gone along to see what the show was all about.
John Rogers, from the society, told The Standard: “We had a steady stream of people come and see us throughout the day.
“One woman told us she was growing Chrysanths herself and asked us about the techniques we used.
“We’d like to say a big thank you to the Burcot Garden Centre for enabling us to host the show,” he added.
