BROMSGROVE Men’s B secured promotion to Division Two of the Herefordshire & Worcestershire League in one of the tightest finishes ever in Division Three.
Bromsgrove, Stourbridge C and Bewdley B all finished the season on 56 points and also equal on rubbers lost and won (56-28).
But in a nail-biting count back, Bromsgrove had more wins than Bewdley meaning they claimed the second promotion spot behind champions Stourbridge.
Captain Steve Jones said: “In all the years I’ve been playing I can’t recall such a close end to the season.
“When Stourbridge’s last result came in we weren’t sure if we had done enough and it has been a tense wait to have our promotion confirmed.
“The squad put in some great performances this summer and I’m really pleased for all of us.”
