YOUNGSTERS from Willow Gardens in Sidemoor raised £76 for Macmillan over the weekend by selling cakes, lemonade and sweets and by cleaning cars in the neighbourhood.

The eight – Isabelle Bowles, Amelia Bowles, Thomas Bowles, Kieran Bowen, Bethany Bowen, Honey Rooke, Sophie Young and Lilly Young – took it upon themselves to undertake the fund-raiser and chose Macmillan as one of the mums works for the charity.

Jim Bowles, the dad of three of the children who took part, told The Standard: “We are immensely proud of them for organising the event and for the amount they raised.

“It was also great that weather was fine – it was perfect for car washing,” he added.
