A JOINT police operation was held yesterday (Friday) to stop speeding vehicles along Hewell Lane in Bromsgrove and to stop those trying to courier drugs into HMP Hewell.
Specialist teams from West Mercia Police were joined by representatives from the DVLA for the operation which was done in response to concerns from the local community.
Several illegal vehicles were detected including one motorist who was driving whilst disqualified, another who was in possession of offensive weapons and others, such as no insurance, obstructing police, cars with no insurance and no tax.
Insp Sarah Corteen from the Bromsgrove Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “As well as preventing and disrupting offending, we seized a car driven by a disqualified driver and took a quantity of offensive weapons out of circulation.
“The operation contributed directly to our priority of protecting people from harm and shows the public that we will take positive action in addressing their concerns.”
