HISTORY will be coming to life tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday (July 17) when Cavalier and Roundhead re-enactors from the English Civil War Society recreate scenes from history at Avoncroft Museum.
There will be a real feel for the English Civil War era as the country’s first open air museum takes visitors back to 1643 on the way to the Battle of Camp Hill.
Guests can walk around the living history camps and chat to Parliamentarian and Royalist soldiers and local residents selling wares on market day.
There will be drills and skirmishes, carpentry demonstrations, spinning, minting and button making.
Young visitors are invited to join in the drills as soldiers prepare for battle, try on armour and look at the weapons used.
Follow the trail around the museum and solve the clues by talking to historic characters.
