FIVE goals from Ellis Blakemore and four from Richard Bishop helped VBG Fairfield romp to an 11-0 win over Rubery Juniors to progress to the second round of the WA Harris Cup.

Nine goals between the club’s leading scorers and a goal each for Ryan Molesworth and Dan Wilkes ensured Fairfield avoided any slip ups and will face Meadow Park in the next round.

Hizza United progressed to the final of the Bridgwater Cup following a 3-1 victory over Chaps United and will meet Meadow Park in the final on Sunday, March 13.

A brace from Ashley Verity and one from Kyle Whiston secured the victory for United.




Meadow Park reached the final of the Worcestershire FA Junior Cup after narrowly edging past Northfield Athletic 4-3.

Two goals from Craig Barnett and one apiece for Ben Stanford and Sean Chance secured the win for Park.


Jason Cowley, Aaron Westwood and Joshua Moore got on the scoresheet for Athletic.

Bartley Green Sunday failed to score in a game for the first time in 82 matches after they were dumped out of the cup following a 1-0 defeat to Evesham-based outfit Broadway United.

Bromsgrove Corinthians crashed out of the Worcestershire FA Minor Cup semi-finals after losing 3-1 to Worcester and District League outfit Fernhill Heath Athletic.

Rubery Athletic climbed up to fourth in the Bromsgrove and District Premier Division table after claiming a comfortable 3-0 home win over second place Alcester Town courtesy of goals from Lee Davies, Robert Hurlbutt and Nathan Ward.

WCT Youth Raiders enjoyed a 7-0 victory away at basement club The Grove thanks to two goals from Richard Smith and one each for Steve Jefferies, Dale Goddard, Matt Andrews and Joseph Haines.

Elsewhere, in a seven-goal thriller at Wolverley Playing Fields, Oak Tree Sporting narrowly beat Belbroughton Athletic 4-3.

A hat-trick from Rory Milbourne and single from James Gasson ensured Sporting came away with the points.

Division One leaders Conway Albion could only move one point clear at the top of the table as they were held to a 2-2 draw by mid-table Wychbold RBL.

Niall Cole and Graham Hill netted for Albion; Colin Rudge and Josh Weatherby for Wychbold.

Sporting Rednal picked up their second win of the campaign after securing a 4-1 victory away at bottom side AFC Northfield thanks to a Lloyd Newman hat-trick and strike from Richard Heywood.

James Draper replied for Northfield.

Elsewhere, GLA claimed a comfortable 5-1 victory over Spa Athletic.

In Division Two, there was a goal-filled game at the Ley Hill Recreation Ground as league leaders Rednal Social Club edged past second-from-bottom side Sporting Club Redditch 9-7.

Joseph Shaw bagged four goals for Redditch, with Steven Rainbow, Daniel Sill and Daniel Edmonds completing their scoring.

Woodgate Valley and LPR shared the spoils in the other Division Two game as they drew 3-3.

Valley’s leading scorer Jamie Sippitts netted twice in the draw.

In Division Three, third place Callowbrook Swifts Green claimed a 5-2 victory over second place Chaddesley Corbett Reserves thanks to goals from Jordan Redden, Jamie Carr, James Cadd, James Ward and Luke Wyatt.

Elsewhere, league leaders Rubery romped to a 7-0 victory over Stoke Sporting Reserves, while Arrow Valley secured a 3-1 victory at FC Bromsgrove.
