THE WINTER season started in dramatic style for Bromsgrove Tennis Club as a number of teams were involved closely fought matches.

One of the most enthralling encounter took place between Bromsgrove’s Men’s C and D teams.

And it was the latter who took it 3-1, but it came after a four and a half hour contest. John Casey with Tim Wright won both their matches, while Mark Blake with Tim Roland and Voitek Niedzwiedz with Trevor Errington each had a win and a loss.

But back-to-back defeats for Jack Walters’ and Pete Morris was the deciding factor.

The outcome of Men’s E team’s was more conclusive as they beat Droitwich 4-0, with Chris Hands, Bruce Tanner, Aaron Oakes and Matt Arnold getting the wins.

Bromsgrove Men’s B team ended up on the wrong side of a draw against Manor Park, while the Ladies D team edged to a winning draw against Evesham B.
