STAFF at Cofton Park Manor Care Home are celebrating after being rated ‘Outstanding’ in the caring category and ‘Good’ overall by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), writes Andres De Miguel.

The home, in Cofton Hackett, received a further ‘Good’ rating in the safe, effective, responsible and well-led categories.

After the visit to the home, run by Hamberley Care Homes, the inspectors wrote: “Staff were exceptional in their approach and communication.

“People were made to feel at the centre of all that happened and made to feel important and respected.”

The inspectors cited hosting a rave for a dance music fan, reuniting the former owner of a classic car with the newly restored vehicle and arranging a bagpipe performance for another resident as examples of the home’s outstanding care for its residents.

Home manager Kerry Hill said: “Everyone at Cofton Park Manor is over the moon to receive such an incredibly positive report from the CQC inspectors.”

Aderio Rocha, director of operations at provider Hamberley, said: “This achievement reflects the dedication, professionalism and warmth of the entire Cofton team, as well as the positive leadership culture that supports colleagues to deliver high-quality care every day.

“We would like to thank our residents and their families for their trust and our colleagues for the passion and pride they bring to their roles.”
