A NEW era beckons for Bromsgrove Sporting after a five-person consortium completed a long-awaited takeover of the club.
Bromsgrove Sporting Holdings Limited have taken a controlling interest in the club after months of takeover talks.
The consortium comprises five local businessmen – Elliott Nash, Alex Moran, Adam Hutchison, Darren Alderson and Darren Smith – who successfully passed the FA Owners’ and Directors’ Test earlier this year.
Sporting held an extraordinary general meeting last week to finalise the share transfer of its hometown club.
Speaking on behalf of the consortium, Hutchison, said: “We’re incredibly excited to have our involvement with the club confirmed and to officially be able to start pouring our hearts and souls into the club, as more than supporters.
“The club has a proud history, a loyal fanbase and huge potential for further growth and expansion.
“We want to work side by side with fans and the wider community, bringing together passion, commercial experience and community pride to create a club that thrives long into the future.”
The consortium shared their plans for the club with fans and the board earlier this year.
Plans include transforming the matchday experience and creating a community hub during the week.
Plans also include a new bar area at the Victoria Ground along with a permanent home for the local burger restaurant, Hangry Moose, at the ground.
The consortium also hope to commit to improving pitch facilities at Barnsley Hall to support the growth and development of the Colts and ladies teams.
Bromsgrove chairman, Rod Brown, said: “The passion all members of the consortium have for our club is clear.
“Individually, they’ve all built thriving, longstanding businesses.
“Together, we know they’ll bring that expertise to Sporting, improving the club for the long term.
“This is an important moment for our club, and we look forward to building a legacy together for years to come.”
