THERE was a host of activities on offer at Clent Connect’s annual Celebration Day on Saturday.
The organisers said it had been another amazing year since the Clent Connect Community shop first opened in 2023, and the positive impact on the community continued to grow beyond all expectations.
Around 100 people flocked to the anniversary celebration, connecting with friends and neighbours.

Entertainment and activities were provided free of charge including from Magician Jay Adkins, the Sunfield team with art activities, glitter tattoos provided by Clent School PTFA and also flower arrangement opportunities ahead of Mothering Sunday.
And the cafe was serving up tea, coffee, homemade cakes and other refreshments throughout the day.
An incredible 70 volunteers are now involved at Clent Connect – across the shop, the cafe, a litter-picking team, newsletter delivery and many other roles.
Clent Connect even had a ‘chauffeur’ who collects those needing transport so they can join in activities.
The Clent Connect management team said it was very grateful for everyone who has made its success possible – from the many volunteers, to Clent Parish Council, Bromsgrove District Council and the many individuals who continue to give their time, energy and skills free of charge.

Bonnie Harvey a member of the management team said “We are extremely proud to share that Clent Connect now enables nearly 1,500 face-to-face social interactions every month.
“This helps reduce isolation and loneliness, which is one of the main reasons why this community benefit society was originally set up.
“The feedback from the everyone is amazing and it really seems to have made a difference to people’s lives”
