CONFIRMED - Bromsgrove Post Office saved from closure

BROMSGROVE Post Office has been saved from closure.

Last month, the Post Office in the TG Jones store on the High Street would be closing on Saturday, June 6 this year, causing outrage from residents.

Following the outcry, town MP Bradley Thomas launched a petition to help keep the store open, signed by more than 1,000 people.

At the time, the Post Office said the closure was due to the resignation of their retail partner and the withdrawal of the premises for their use.

The Post Office has today announced that their branch in TG Jones will no longer be closing.

They confirmed their retail partner had rescinded their resignation.

They’ve also said that the branch will continue to offer the same range of Post Office products and services over the same opening hours.

Following the announcement, Mr Thomas said: “Friday 13th may be unlucky for some, but not for Bromsgrove.

“By coming together, residents have saved this vital community service. Thank you to everyone who signed my petition. Your voices were heard loud and clearly.

“I’d like to thank TG Jones for rescinding their resignation and allowing the Post Office to stay.

“I said we needed a Post Office in the town centre, and I kept my promise by doing everything I could to fight for just that.”
