BROMSGROVE RFC romped to an eight-try 55-19 bonus point home win against Bridgnorth in the club’s first home game of the year.

A pair of tries from Will Harris and further scores from Ellis Jenkins, Steve Leach, Rich Hance, Will Tanner, Will Parkes and Josh Holt sealed a comprehensive victory for the home side at Finstall Park.

And the result means Bromsgrove sit fifth in the Regional 1 Midlands table, only 11 points behind leaders Newport (Salop).

Bromsgrove scored the game’s first try on 15 minutes as Jenkins dotted down which opened the floodgates.

The Boars blitzed Bridgnorth with three more tries in the space of 10 minutes as Harris, Leach and Hance all touched down to secure a try bonus point for the home side.

Bridgnorth responded with two tries of their own to reduce the deficit only for Tanner and Parkes to cross for Bromsgrove.

And the Boars took a commanding 31-point into the break after Tanner kicked a penalty shortly before half time.

The hosts extended their lead straight from the restart as Holt finished out wide before Harris scored his second try of the game.

The Boars took their foot off the gas for the final 25 minutes or so as Bridgnorth ran in the game’s final try late on.

Bromsgrove are next in action against Drybrook on Saturday, January 31 with kick-off at 2.15pm at Finstall Park.
