A BLANKET POSTPONEMENT of this weekend’s County Cup fixtures has been issued by the Birmingham County FA due to the effects of Storm Goretti, writes Neil Gordon.
The postponement includes Bromsgrove Rovers AFC’s Holder Cup tie against Kawala FC.
The tie was scheduled for Saturday, January 10, at Eldorado Close.
And the decision comes after strong winds, snow and rain hit the Midlands yesterday (Thursday).
This came amid an amber weather warning issued by the Met Office.
The Birmingham County FA advised member clubs that the decision to postpone fixtures was not taken lightly.
The FA also stressed the decision was made in the best interests of players, teams and match officials.
And the Greens reserve team’s game against Sikh Hunters on Saturday has fallen victim to the weather, with this fixture also postponed.
