Abandoned Bromsgrove husky and ‘Rugrats’ pups find Christmas home

AN ABANDONED pregnant husky and her ‘Rugrats’ pups who ended up at Bromsgrove’s Blue Cross have found loving homes in time for Christmas.

Two-year-old Siberian Husky Kimmy came into the rehoming centre on Wildmoor Lane in Catshill, in August with her six pups from the RSPCA after she was found straying.

Caroline Oram, the Bromsgrove Blue Cross’ admissions co-ordinator, said: “At first, she was wary, but soon she warmed up to us.

“She is such a loving girl and was a brilliant mum.”

The pups were named after the characters in the hit TV cartoon ‘The Rugrats’ – Lillian, Angelica, Susie, Tommy, Cynthia and Chuckie.

Caroline said: “We’re so happy we’ve been able to find them all loving new homes in time for Christmas.”

Kimmy’s new owner Marian, who lives in Hampshire, said: “Kimmy has settled exceptionally well in our home thanks to the wonderful work by the guys at Bromsgrove before she came to us.

“We love her so much – she is loving her routine and lets us know when it’s time for bed.

“She is growing in confidence each day.

“She is such a lovable, affectionate girl, who loves to play and then snuggle – we’re looking forward to spoiling her this Christmas.”

The charity needs urgent support so it can help vulnerable homeless pets this Christmas.

People who donate will help provide a ‘Critical Care Kit’, which contains emergency items tailored to each pet’s needs on their first night with the charity. These include pain relief, antibiotics, warm blankets and nutritious food.

People can support Blue Cross by donating £10, £20 or £30, helping rehoming and veterinary teams provide urgent support to pets in need during their most vulnerable hours.
