THREE students from Bromsgrove have been recognised for their hard work with prestigious Academic Scholarship awards from the University of Worcester.
Bethany Lammas, Millie Aspland and Grace Ashmore, all studying at the university, received their £1,000 awards at a recent ceremony celebrating student achievement.

Third-year digital marketing student Bethany Lammas, 20, said: “I would love to use the money to start my own small online business, selling digital products to help build a strong foundation for my career in digital marketing and create an online presence for myself.”
Millie Aspland, 20, and a second-year physiotherapy student, said: “I am very honoured and grateful that all of my hard work has been recognised.”
Millie said she was particularly proud to have achieved 100 per cent attendance during her first year, and to have gained full marks in her practical exams.
She said: “The prize will relieve the pressure to work on weekends and over the holidays, so I can focus entirely on my studies.”
Grace Ashmore, 20, cybersecurity student, said: “This will help me pay the rent in my final year when I’m back from my placement, so I’ll store it away for then.
“The award is a reminder that university is a privilege, and that by making the most of this opportunity and working hard, life rewards you in return.”
She added: “My parents worked very hard so I could go to university – I’m so happy I can make them proud and I’m grateful to my lecturers for investing the effort into my assignments and feeding back to me so I could improve my work.”

Prof Sally Moyle, deputy vice-chancellor academic at the university, said: “We are incredibly proud of the students who have received academic scholarships.”
The scholarships and prizes are made possible thanks to generous philanthropists, including the university’s distinguished Honorary Fellows, local employers, and many successful alumni.
University staff have also been fundraising for scholarship and hardship funds as part of the University’s two-year Anniversaries Campaign, which marks 20 years since gaining full university status in 2005 and 80 years since its founding as an emergency teacher training college in 1946.
Prof Moyle added: “These awards not only provide financial support and encouragement to deserving students but also demonstrate to potential employers the outstanding achievements of our student community.”
