QUICK-ACTING Bromsgrove Police officers recovered equipment for the town’s market and a trailer which were stolen overnight.
The brazen thieves took £10,000 worth of property owned by the council and it meant the usual Saturday market in the High Street had to be scaled down today.
Further costs were incurred as barriers the trailer was behind were destroyed during the theft and a car park wsspotentially out of action.
The equipment and trailer was stolen at 8pm last night and was recovered by a sergeant and PCSO from the Safer Neighbourhood Team earlier today.
The SNT said: “Thanks to sharp policing and rapid teamwork, the trailer is now safely back with the council.
“Investigations into the suspected thieves are ongoing, and we remain hopeful that arrests will follow soon.”
