ARRANGEMENTS for this year’s Bromsgrove Remembrance Sunday Parade and Service have been announced.
Organisations wanting to participate in the parade next Sunday, November 9, should gather outside Argos in the High Street.
Standards and flags can either stay with their organisations or lead behind the police and church representative.
The Parade

The parade will muster at 10am ready to step off at 10.30am.
As it proceeds along the High Street an ‘eyes left’ will be given at the Odd Fellows Memorial above the EE shop where the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Worcestershire will take the salute.
The parade will then turn into Church Street and, with the help of stewards, cross Market Street to get to the monument on Crown Close. Road closures will be in place on Market Street for the parade and service.
Toilets will be available at Amphlett Hall.
The Service
The service will start at 10.50am with The Act of Remembrance at 11am and a wreath-laying after that. It will finish around 11.20am.

At 11.45am there will be a short service, starting at St John’s Church involving a prayer and the laying of two blank wreaths – the Deputy Lord Lieutenant will lay one at the First World War memorial and the Bromsgrove Royal British Legion President will lay one at the Boer War Memorial. This will be followed by a poem by Bromsgrove Town Crier Kevin Ward and end with a blessing.
Youth organisations are advised to make sure their young people have breakfast and bring water with them.
After the service, the parade will disperse and all are invited to Artrix where light refreshments will be provided.

Organisations wishing to lay a wreath should also contact Jeff Evans as soon as possible.
If the weather is wet, the service may be conducted inside St John’s Church.
