BROMSGROVE RFC secured their first away win of the season with a 32-15 bonus point victory at Drybrook in the first-ever meeting between the two teams.

Tries from Ollie Ingram, who dotted down twice, Steve Leach, George Meader and Jamie Constantine sealed a five-try win for the Boars at the Mannings Ground.

The result means Bromsgrove sit fourth in the Regional 1 Midlands table as the Boars secured back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

Ingram scored the game’s first try following a run down the wing as he sprinted away from the Drybrook defence to dot down.

However, Drybrook hit back with a try of their own soon after only for Leach to crash over for Bromsgrove’s second try following a quickly-taken penalty.

The home side reclaimed the lead just before half time although Will Tanner kicked a penalty from in front of the posts to edge the Boars into a one-point lead at the interval.

Bromsgrove extended their lead early in the second half as Ingram burst down the right wing to score his second try of the game.

Drybrook kicked a penalty to reduce the deficit but this would prove the home side’s only score in the second period.

However, the Boars scored their bonus point try from the restart as Meader touched down to put the visitors in command.

The game became a stop-start affair thereafter as Constantine scored the game’s final try to seal Bromsgrove’s first away win of the campaign.

Bromsgrove are next in action against league leaders Stourbridge on Saturday, October 25 with kick-off at 3pm at Finstall Park.
