BROMSGROVE ROVERS AFC difficult start to life continues in Division One of the Birmingham and District Football League after a 3-0 home defeat to Sutton United, writes Neil Gordon.
The Greens conceded three first-half goals against early leaders and title contenders United at Eldorado Close with Bromsgrove now playing at their highest level in the club’s short history.
A Peter Bannister strike, coupled to Jack Nation’s double, saw Rovers three goals behind at the interval with the home side unable to respond after the break.
The result leaves Bromsgrove pointless and bottom of the Division One table, but with two games in hand on most other teams.
Bromsgrove had gone into the match buoyed by their 7-0 Intermediate Cup victory over lower-ranked Oldbury United a week earlier.
And now the Greens will be hoping its third time lucky when they face Village B on Saturday, October 4 and collect three points to begin climbing the Division One table.
Bromsgrove face Village B at Aston University. Kick-off is 2.30pm and admission free.
