BROMSGROVE RFC moved top of the table with a dominant 48-17 bonus point win against Nuneaton.

The Boars returned to winning ways in style at Finstall Park as Rich Hance, James Gunther, Steve Leach and Josh Holt all crossed for first-half tries.

And further tries from George Meader, Rhys Williams and Leach after the break sealed a convincing victory.

The result means Bromsgrove lead the Regional 1 Midlands table on points difference.

Nuneaton took an early three-point lead when Lucas Brindley kicked a penalty from in front of the posts.

However, the penalty would prove the only time Nuneaton troubled the scoreboard in the first half.

Bromsgrove responded with the game’s first try as Hance broke from inside his own half to score a stunning solo try.

And Gunther then dotted down from a tap and go penalty with Nuneaton camped on their own try line.

Leach bulldozed his way over from five-yards out to stretch Bromsgrove’s lead.

And Holt touched down the home side’s bonus point try in the corner after beating four defenders to send the Boars into the break with a 21-point lead.

However, Nuneaton responded after the break as Tyler Freeman and Thomas Aherne crossed for a pair of quickfire converted tries to reduce the deficit to a single score.

The Boars eventually put the game to bed as Meader and Williams dotted down before Leach crossed for his second of the game.

And Williams kicked a penalty to put the seal on another bonus point home win for the Boars.

Bromsgrove are next in action against Bridgnorth on Saturday, October 4 with kick-off at 3pm at the Edgar Davies Ground.
