BROMSGROVE Rovers AFC began life in Division One of the Birmingham and District Football League with a dramatic 4-3 opening day defeat against Desi FC, writes Neil Gordon.
The Greens trailed by two goals at the break before Ben Hill, Jack Dawkins and Ash Pardoe all found the net as Rovers mounted a second-half comeback.
However, Desi struck twice more to reclaim the lead and come away with the points in a thrilling contest at Birmingham Road.
Bromsgrove secured promotion to Division One during the close-season having finished fourth last term in Division Two – just two places and eight points off automatic promotion.
Rovers AFC manager, Spencer Machin said: “If the players pull together and work the way they can, and play the way I know they can, they will have a very good season.”
Bromsgrove are without a game on Saturday, September 13.
