BROMSGROVE Sporting have confirmed the appointment of Richard Batchelor as the club’s new assistant manager.
Batchelor recently announced his retirement from playing following spells with Rushall Olympic, Alvechurch, Stourbridge, Redditch United, Leamington, Sporting Khalsa, Worcester City and Hednesford Town.
He started the 2025/26 campaign with Racing Club Warwick only to retire a few weeks into the new season.
And he will now assist Scott Adey-Linforth at the Rouslers for the remainder of the campaign.
Batchelor said: “I’m delighted to get the chance to come in as Scott’s number two.
“As a lot of people know, I retired not long ago and having to do that really disappointed me.
“So, when I got the phone call, I knew it was a great opportunity for me to stay involved.
“I’ve been around non-league football around this level for a long time.
“Bromsgrove is a big club and it’s got a great following. I’ve played against the club many times and I know the passion from fans and how much they want to succeed.
“I can bring lots of experience and knowhow about the league – I know most clubs and what we are up against.
“My winning mentality and no nonsense attitude is what I’ll be bringing – I won’t accept people being second best.
“We are having a little sticky period at the minute, so hopefully me coming in with Scott can create a partnership to get these lads back firing and winning games, which will put smiles back on faces.
“I’m sure, over the coming weeks, some changes will be made for the better.”
Adey-Linforth added: “I’m buzzing to have Batch on board.
“His record and reputation speaks for itself and it is a huge coup for myself and the club.
“He improves my team massively and I can’t to wait to start working with him.”
