BLACKWELL schoolgirl Freya MacGarrow is celebrating an ‘epic’ win in a draw for tickets for the village’s popular music festival.
The five-year old, who was just a baby when she last went to Blackwell Music Festival, is now looking forward to doing ‘lots of cartwheels’ at the event on Saturday, September 6.
Freya won tickets for her brother Freddie, who’s nearly nine, and her parents after she entered a free draw at the village’s summer festival.
Dad Alastair said he was looking forward to a family-orientated community event.
“The kids are both at school in Blackwell and I expect they’ll see a lot of their friends there, so that’ll be nice,” he said.
Bob Jefford, one of the music festival organisers, said the not-for-profit event aimed to be as inclusive as possible, and had something for everyone.
“We have a bouncy castle and bumper cars for the youngsters, an arts and crafts tent, seven excellent bands performing a range of classic songs, and arguably the cheapest festival booze in the northern hemisphere.” he said.
