KEY PLAYERS in Bromsgrove’s new community pavilion development came together this week to mark a significant milestone in the project.
Completion of the steel framework at the new Nailers Yard project – a redevelopment of the former Market Hall site – saw partners including developer Kier and project manager Arcadis celebrate the early progress made alongside Bromsgrove District Council.
The event featured speeches from some of those in attendance and concluded with a symbolic tightening of the final bolt in the steel frame, signifying a major step forward in the build.
Leader of Bromsgrove District Council, councillor Karen May, said: “Watching the frame take shape over the past few months has been truly exciting.
“Our mission to enhance Bromsgrove for residents, businesses, and visitors continues with this ambitious project.
“Nailers Yard represents a fantastic opportunity to diversify Bromsgrove’s town centre offering, attract new businesses, and provide high-quality spaces for community use.”
Nailers Yard will host premium office space, restaurants, bars, a community pavilion and new open public spaces across two buildings and an open public realm.
The Pavilion’s open-plan ground floor will host creative exhibitions, markets, and other community events throughout the week.
Tony Shenton, regional director of Kier Construction Eastern & Midlands, said: “Nailers Yard is an exciting project that we are proud to be a part of.
“The modern transformation of this former Market Hall site is designed to support the revitalisation of the High Street, and we hope it will benefit the community of Bromsgrove for decades to come.”
With the site having remained vacant since 2020, the completion of the steel frame marks a significant achievement in the journey toward revitalising the area. The project is on track for completion in early 2026.
The development is possible thanks to a grant of £14.5m from the UK Government. Other projects benefiting from this grant include the former Fire Station site on Windsor Street and public realm improvements in the town centre.
