BROMSGROVE Sporting have promoted three players from the club’s under-21s side to the first team squad.

George Gillon, Fin Carson and Josh Burgess have all signed first team forms at the Victoria Ground for the 2025/26 season.

The trio have impressed boss Scott Adey-Linforth in the early stages of pre-season when training with the first team.

Sporting’s director of football, Iain Queen said: “It is always great to see players developing and being in and around the first team.

“We had a fantastic first season in the under-21 league and all three players played a big part in that success.

“It is a big step moving up from the development league into Step Three football, and it is key that young players remain patient and keep developing with their coaches at the club.

“We watch all the under-21 games either in person or on the VEO footage and if we feel a player is getting closer to the first team they are firstly introduced into training with Scott Adey-Linforth, before analysing the next best step for each individual player.

“Whether that be to remain with our under-21s or dual register them to allow them to experience the physicalities of men’s football elsewhere.

“This was the case last season when Bo Morris went out to Pershore Town, before coming back and being involved with the first team towards the end of the season.

“Like many clubs at our level we operate with a squad of around 16 to 17 players, so it is important that we have players who can come into the first team set up if needed.

“Injuries, illness and suspensions will impact our matchday squads throughout the season and therefore it is essential that we utilise our under-21 squad when needed.

“Scott [Adey-Linforth] has proven that he will support youth and if he feels they are ready then they will be given opportunities.”

Gillon topped the goalscoring charts for the under-21s last season and also won the players’ player of the season award.

He scored 15 goals from central midfield and also proved a threat from set-pieces.

Carson can operate in midfield, at centre-back or right-back and will offer plenty of tactical flexibility and versatility to Sporting’s squad.

Burgess primarily plays as a left-back but is comfortable anywhere down the left side of the pitch.
