Orchestra of St John's 'Musical Masterpiece' with top soloist Claire Prewer to be performed at historic Bromsgrove church

Bromsgrove Editorial 6th Jul, 2025   0

THE ORCHESTRA of St John will perform its summer concert at 7pm on Sunday, July 20, writes Tayla O’Hara.

‘Musical Masterpiece’ will showcase the group’s orchestral talent, conducted by Dr Richard Jenkinson, at St John’s Church in Bromsgrove.

The wonderful Claire Prewer has been chosen to be the soloist for the event, which will see Strauss’ ‘Four Last Songs’ – a collection of orchestral songs – performed. Also on the programme is Anton Bruckner’s Symphony No 7.

Claire studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where her impressive talents helped her achieve a scholarship to study on the AGSM Performers Course, a specific qualification for professional music performance training.

She subsequently undertook the Opera Course where she studied with professionals, including Johanna Peters and Dr Elizabeth Vaughan.

Musical Masterpiece is the concluding act of Bromsgrove Festival 2025.
