DEPARTING duo Jamie Meddows and Aaron Roberts have sent farewell messages to the Bromsgrove Sporting faithful.

Meddows has joined National League North side AFC Telford United for an undisclosed fee after scoring 18 goals in 50 appearances for the Rouslers last term.

And club-record appearance holder Roberts has also left Sporting despite initially agreeing to remain at the Victoria Ground next season.

Meddows said: “Unfortunately, my time is over at Bromsgrove and I am going to be moving on; it was an opportunity too good to turn away.

“The truth is I came to the club not even knowing how much I’d play.

“But, 50 out of 50 games later, and as the only player to do so this season, I can’t thank the management enough – Paul Smith, Scott Adey-Linforth and Darryl Knights – for all their hard work behind the scenes they’ve done for me.

“The support I felt from the fans has truly been special and I’m so grateful for it.

“Thank you to everyone – Rod the chairman, the management, the fans and everyone involved with this special club. I wish you all the best for the future.”

Roberts added: “It’s with regret that I announce I will be leaving the club.

“My aim when returning after four seasons away was to both prove myself after leaving under a cloud previously and show the supporters that I was still a dependable and effective player for the club – I can say I have achieved both of these.

“I would like to thank you all, on behalf of myself and my family, for the unwavering support and love you have always showed me.

“I leave with over 300 appearances, for the most special club, to my name.

“As with any time I’ve left the club, I will never close the door to return in whatever capacity that may be.

“I thank the club, board and supporters for a brilliant two seasons.

“The club is in a much better place on and off the pitch than when I returned and we finally have stability to look to the future. Thank you for everything.”
