Bromsgrove's 24/7 Prayer Event welcomes 100 participants

A WEEK of prayer in Bromsgrove has brought together churches from all across the town.

Chair of Bromsgrove District Council, Sam Evans, opened the 24/7 Prayer Event in the basement of Bromsgrove Baptist Church on Sunday, June 1.

The prayer room was decorated with artwork, maps, prayer requests and information about work the people are doing in the town and around the world so others can pray for them.

Over 100 people signed up to be in the prayer room from 5am to midnight every day of the week from June 1 to June 7. Some even signed up to pray into the early hours.

There were contributions from local schools and youth groups with some groups contributing artwork or visiting in person.

The ribbon was cut by chair of Bromsgrove District Council, Sam Evans and Rose Pauley, a long time ‘prayer warrior’ from Bromsgrove Baptist Church who was for some time a missionary on the other side of the world.

As well as the physical room, a local business helped harness cutting edge technology to create a virtual prayer room where people could move around the prayer space and interact with the displays.

The end of the week of prayer was marked by a big celebration in Sanders’ Park on Sunday morning (June 8 at 10.30am).

The virtual prayer room is still available to view online. Visit https://localchurch.uk/bromsgrove for more information.
