PUPILS from Millfields First School in Bromsgrove stepped back in time for a special Victory in Europe (VE) Day.
The school hosted a range of learning activities to help children understand the significance of the important moment in British and world history.
Throughout the week, children explored the events which led to the end of the Second World War in Europe.
Through storytelling, art and music, pupils developed a deeper appreciation of the experiences of those who lived through the conflict and the relief and joy which swept the nation on May 8, 1945.

The commemorations culminated in a traditional picnic lunch and children and staff dressed in red, white and blue and enjoyed classic wartime songs and treats. The atmosphere was one of community, remembrance, and celebration.
Headteacher Lisa Montandon said: “It’s so important that our children understand the sacrifices made by earlier generations and why VE Day remains such a significant date in our national story.
This event helped bring history to life in a way that was meaningful, fun, and respectful.”
Parents, carers, and members of the local community praised the school for the event which educated pupils and celebrated peace and unity.
