FAIRFIELD Villa have added Joe Sims to the club’s management team for the 2025/26 season.
Villa have persuaded Sims to join current Villa boss GJ Singh in the dugout next campaign.
Sims recently departed Birmingham United after guiding the club to a third-place finish in the Midland Football League Division Two last season.
Villa play in the same division as Birmingham but finished down on 14th place – one place above the bottom of the table.
Fairfield chairman, Paul Oakes said: “GJ was adamant that Joe was the man he wanted to assist in igniting a fresh challenge on the league title and Joe has shown his qualities by taking Birmingham United from a basement team to a very competitive team that challenged for the league title last season.
“Joe will bring his staff Chris Fleet and Joe Turner with him and they will work alongside current coach Matt Powell.
“As chairman, I’m delighted to announce this appointment, GJ was very clear in wanting to get Joe into the club to assist him and there is a real buzz of excitement about the coming season.
“Our pre season is already in place with teams from Step Five and Step Six arranged to give our new look squad a real test.”
The club also handed out their end-of-season awards with Dan Elwell claiming the players’ player and top scorer prizes.
Manager Singh selected Diego Preston as his player of the season while Sam Hart won the young player award.
And Edward Quilty scooped the supporters’ and committee’s player of the season award.
