RUNNERS are being called upon to apply to represent a leading local childhood cancer charity at next year’s London Marathon.
The Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust has now opened its charity spot for the prestigious long distance race, with one winner being able to join the event and help champion the organisations cause through fundraising.
“Our charity spot provides a fantastic opportunity for an individual to not only achieve a personal milestone but also to contribute significantly to our cause.” said Abbie Bissell-Blazier, charity fundraiser at Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust.”
“The funds raised will go towards our annual running costs of £700,000. Every pound raised brings us closer to a world where no child dies of cancer and no family fights childhood cancer alone.”
Given the high demand for this coveted spot, interested applicants are encouraged to apply promptly.
The Charity are looking for a passionate individual who is committed to contributing to a cause that matters deeply.
This year’s marathon representative for the charity, Clare Mallender, learnt about the trust due to her manager’s son being supported by them.
Clare said: “He speaks very highly of the care and support they have given him and his family.
“I would like to be able to help the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust continue to help other families who need it at such a distressing time.”
Applicants must commit to raising a minimum of £3,000 to be considered. Applications close on May 31 and the selected runner will be notified by July 1.
