BAILEY Depper-Gwilliams scored twice as Bromsgrove Rovers AFC beat Walsall Phoenix 3-0 to keep the pressure on leaders Silhill, writes Neil Gordon.

Bromsgrove secured back-to-back victories for the first time since October as George Tolley scored in-between two second-half goals from Depper-Gwilliams at Charford Road.

The Greens also recorded their first clean sheet of the campaign as they remain second in Division Two of the Birmingham and District Football League, three points behind leaders Silhill.

The race for the Division Two title now enters a crucial stage with numerous teams playing midweek games during April to clear a backlog of fixtures with Silhill favourites for the crown.

After a goalless first-half, Depper-Gwilliams opened the scoring on the hour mark to add to his four-goal haul against Phoenix in a 7-1 rout in October.

Tolley quickly added a second to put Bromsgrove in command as the Greens looked to build on their hard-fought 2-1 victory over Nechells Athletic.

And Depper Gwilliams completed the scoring with an excellent goal to secure a comfortable victory as Bromsgrove maintain pressure on the leaders.

Bromsgrove play Redditch Borough on Saturday, April 5 with kick-off at 2.30pm and admission free at Cherry Tree Walk.
