A CHARITY Pink Day and tattoo and piercing walk-in day will be held to raise funds for Libby Mae’s Little Angels.
This year, from 12pm on April 26, on what would have been Libby’s 12th birthday, the charity will team up with Modern Electric tattoo parlour in Catshill.
Tattoo artists Paul, Beth, Lukasz and Jay are offering tattoos at £40 each and piercings for £25 with all proceeds going to Libby Mae’s Little Angels. This has been made possible thanks to sponsors Barber DTS which will be providing tattoo supplies.
Available designs will be announced on the tattooist’s social media prior to the event and there will also be a selection of pink jewellery on offer.
Those having tattoos must be over 18 years of age and ID will be required.
Piercings by Chel will be available for those from six years old. A parent or legal guardian must be present for anyone under 18.
Paul Talbot, from Modern Electric, said: “We have one of the longest running tattoo studios in Bromsgrove, first opening in 2010, and we’ve been in our current location in the village of Catshill – where Libby Mae’s Little Angels is also based – since 2013.
“We are a local family-owned business providing quality tattoos and piercings in a relaxed friendly environment. Come hang out with us for the day and get a tattoo or piercing for a very good cause.”
Coffee will also be available from Modern Electric for £2-a-cup with those proceeds also going to the charity.
Libby Mae’s Little Angels was set up by Charlotte and Richard Sharratt following Libby Mae’s passing in 2013.
Since then more than £750,000 has been raised for neonatal departments across the Midlands, improving babies’ and families’ first journeys together and helping save newborn lives.
Charlotte told the Standard: “We are so grateful that Paul Talbot and the wonderful tattooists at Modern Electric have chosen to mark her special day in this way.”
Go PINK 4 Libby
This year, as Libby’s birthday falls on a weekend, the official Go PINK 4 Libby day will be Friday, May 2.
Charlotte added: “We ask everyone to wear something pink in memory of our beautiful daughter and to help spread awareness of our charity.”
Schools, nurseries, colleges, businesses and even the odd celebrity will put on some pink in Libby’s memory.
Charlotte added: “Please get involved. You could hold a pink themed event, a cake sale, a non-uniform day, fancy dress – just make sure it’s pink and send us your photos on social media please.”
