A WOMAN in her 70s has been violently attacked at the Lickey Hills Country Park prompting a police appeal to help locate the suspect.

Around 2.15pm last Friday (March 21), the victim was approached by a man dressed in ‘scrub-like’ pyjamas who ran over to her screaming on the bridal path near the visitor’s centre.

The suspect then grabbed her shoulders and headbutted her, causing her to fall to the ground.

The 77-year-old victim, told the Standard, was headbutted twice, causing a nosebleed, a black eye and a large bump to her head.

She added: “His head was like steel.”

She was taken back to the visitor centre before the police and ambulance service attended. She was taken to hospital for treatment and, fortunately, her injuries were not too serious.

Police have confirmed she is now recovering at home.

She said: “I find it hard to understand how a person dressed in hospital scrubs and with bare feet could have come any distance without being seen and just disappear after the incident, again without being seen.

“The man clearly needs help and I don’t want anyone else to have to go through what I did.

“He needs to be caught soon.”

PC Lauren Kalach from Bromsgrove police has urged anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch.
