THE WORCESTERSHIRE Skills Show 2025 has been hailed as a major success, with more than 3,500 young people attending, writes Maya Evans.
The careers event, at Worcester’s Sixways Stadium on March 5 and 6, brought together local, national, and international businesses, training providers and educational institutions. Between them, they showcased a range of career opportunities available to Worcestershire’s young people.
Students from more than 40 schools were given the opportunity to not only explore potential career paths, but also gain direct insights from industry experts.
And local businesses had the opportunity to take part in seminars, network with peers and explore available business support.
The showcase, already the county’s largest careers event, is a collaboration between Worcestershire County Council, Inspiring Worcestershire, Worcestershire Growth Hub and the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership.
Judy Gibbs, director of skills at Worcestershire local enterprise partnership and head of skills and employability for Worcestershire County Council, said: “What a fantastic event it’s been, seeing so many young people inspired in their future steps.
“We’ve seen so many fantastic employers, training providers and educational establishments on board supporting us at Worcestershire County Council and Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership with our Early Careers’ strategy.
“They have also helped us create Worcestershire’s future workforce.”
