STUDENTS in Bromsgrove have helped plant over 200 trees in the grounds of a Droitwich care home to enhance the garden’s biodiversity for residents.

Rashwood Care Home in Droitwich is proud to announce the new scheme which saw Bromsgrove School students plant locally diverse trees to mark various environmental improvements within the grounds.

The trees will improve air quality, provide natural habitats for wildlife, and create a peaceful green spaces for residents to enjoy.

“This project is a wonderful opportunity to foster intergenerational relationships while enhancing the natural beauty of our care home’s grounds,” said Catherine Lines, General Manager at Rashwood Care Home.

“By involving the students, we not only engage the younger generation in environmental sustainability but also create a space that will be enjoyed by both our current and future residents for years to come.”

The tree-planting scheme is part of Rashwood Care Home’s aims to build strong ties with the local community.

Scheme organisers say the collaborative efforts between the students and residents has fostered a sense of shared purpose and pride, with both groups coming together to make a positive impact.

The planting of 200 trees marks just the beginning of Rashwood Care Home’s plans to further integrate sustainability into their day-to-day operations.

In the future, they plan to partner with more local organizations and schools to benefit the environment and the people they serve.
