Bromsgrove Holocaust Memorial Day service moved to Parkside amidst weather warning

THE HOLOCAUST Memorial Day (HMD) Service at 11am on Monday, January 27, in Bromsgrove will now be held at the Parkside Suite, due to heavy rain forecast.

The service – being hosted by the Bromsgrove District Council vice-chairman, Coun Bakul Kumar and led by Rev Ray Khan – had been due to take place at Sanders Park.

Each year, an HMD service is held to remember the millions of people killed in the Holocaust, Nazi persecution and in subsequent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia, and Darfur.

Council chairman, Coun Sam Ammar, said: “By acknowledging this tragic history, we can better understand the ongoing injustices faced by many around the world today.”

Everyone is welcome to Monday’s event, which will also feature local, middle and high schools taking part, along with readers from all faiths.
