A TEAM of refuse and recycling collectors in Bromsgrove had a fantastically festive encounter this morning when a group of residents met them on their round to say ‘thank you’ for their hard work over the past 12 months.
It all started when Frank Fallon, who lives in Blackmore Lane, posted a note to his neighbours to see if they wanted to join him in giving the bin collectors a ‘Christmas tip’.
A number of them duly obliged and dropped off cash in envelopes to him.

Then, at 7am today, when they arrived, Frank, dressed as Father Christmas, was waiting with a box of mince pies and the envelopes.
Bob, Dan and Phil – the collectors – enjoyed a festive pastry and were handed the envelopes.
Frank told the Standard: “We all appreciate what our bin collectors do – collecting our wheelie bins in all weathers.
“And we wanted to help them have a wheelie good Christmas.”
