A PUB in Bromsgrove will be running charity fundraising activities this week to mark its 30th anniversary in the town.
The Golden Cross Hotel, on the High Street, will celebrate its 30th birthday on Sunday (December 22) by raffling off two Christmas hampers and offering reduced prices of food and drink.
The Wetherspoon pub first opened on December 22, 1994, on the site of the former Golden Cross Hotel, one of Bromsgrove’s oldest coaching inns of the same name which was rebuilt in 1932.
On it’s birthday (December 22), all guest ales at Golden Cross Hotel will be priced at £1.99 a pint, for the birthday event, with pizza, burgers and sticky toffee pudding also on offer all day, at a reduced cost of £3 off the usual price.
Three new cocktail pitchers, not usually served at the pub, will also be available including Long Island iced tea, Ultra-blue and Coconut and lemon cooler.
Funds raised through the charity raffle will go Young Lives vs Cancer, Wetherspoon’s charity partner. There will be two hampers up for grabs, one for adults and one for youngsters.
Pub manager Jemma Palmer said: “We are looking forward to celebrating our special birthday – a significant milestone – with our regular customers, and hopefully some new ones too, as well as raising funds for a great charity.”
