A BROMSGROVE care home is urging residents to send in cards to a sprightly resident who will be celebrating her 107th birthday.

Irene Lane resides at Heathbrook House Bupa Care Home and will turn 107 on Sunday, December 15.

Carers at the home are hoping to receive 107 cards from the community to mark Irene’s very special milestone.

Irene’s family will visit to celebrate her special day with her and they hope to decorate her room with the cards she receives from the local community.

Born in Birmingham, Irene has a large family of two children, four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

She spent most of her life as a seamstress before becoming a mum, however, she always loved making clothes for her children with her own sewing machine.

Home Manager at Heathbrook House, Hayley Langley, said: “Everybody is so excited to celebrate with Irene on her special day.

“It will be so exciting to see how many cards she receives – we plan to decorate her room with them, so she feels very loved.”

Anyone who wants to send Irene a birthday card should address it to 223 to 229, Worcester Road, Bromsgrove, B61 7JA.

Heathbrook House Bupa Care Home is situated in Stoke Heath, Bromsgrove and welcomes residents in need of nursing or residential care including those living with dementia and Parkinson’s.
