THERE will be a sea of red around a Redditch lake on Sunday, December 1, when the Primrose Hospice holds its annual Santa Fun Run.

Redditch property agency John Truslove is helping to fund the Santa suits for 400 people who will be running, jogging or walking around the Arrow Valley Lake to raise funds for the hospice.

Ben Truslove, joint managing director at John Truslove, said: “This is an excellent cause, which is why we have sponsored the event for the past four years.

“It’s great fun and raises significant funds for Primrose Hospice.”

Gabby Grubb, event organiser and fundraiser at Primrose Hospice, said: “This will be the biggest Santa Fun Run we have ever organised with 400 people taking part.

“This is the fourth year they have sponsored the event and we are very grateful for their support, which helps ensure that more of the money we raise can go towards the hospice rather than the costs of organising the run.

“Last year we raised more than £13,000 and this year we have our fingers crossed we will do even better.”

There will be a 5km run around the lake, with a 1km run for children and those who might find 5km too challenging.

Gabby added: “Everyone who signed up for the run will get a Santa suit to wear over their running gear, and a medal when they finish.

“And, in keeping with the festive spirit of the event, there will be mince pies.”

Entries closed for the run once it hit its 400 target, but people can still turn up to support the event.
