MANAGERLESS Bromsgrove Sporting earned their first league win in 10 matches with a 3-0 victory against Barwell.

Goals from Jamie Meddows, Theo Robinson and Fin Holmes ensured interim boss Scott Adey-Linforth marked his first league game at the helm with a win at the Victoria Ground.

After securing their first home win in the league since August, Sporting are now three points from safety in the Southern League Premier Central relegation zone.

Adey-Linforth said: “It’s a great result, it was important for us to take advantage of the home crowd.

“I could hear the fans in the first half, it goes a long way because there were times when we had to dig in and the crowd’s support helped us through.

“It’s been nice, it’s been made easy by the players, the staff and the chairman, it’s a difficult job but I’d have bitten your hand off to start with these results.”

Sporting made the perfect start when Meddows lashed a loose ball into the bottom right corner from the edge of the penalty area after just seven minutes.

The Rouslers doubled their lead on 55 minutes as Robinson finished from close range after Luke Rowe’s initial effort fell kindly into the striker’s path.

And the home side made sure of the points on 83 minutes when substitute Holmes fired a shot into the roof of the net after exchanging passes with Rowe.

Bromsgrove are next in action against AFC Sudbury on Saturday, November 23 with kick-off at 3pm at the MEL Group Stadium.
